Day 1
Today is my first time ever to blog. I don't know if this is something I will continue or not. I do want to post about our trip. That way I can share what all is going on and maybe it will help me remember things:)
We tried to leave at a certain time and had turned out of our neighborhood when someone remembered their antibiotics and someone else remembered they needed to go potty! What else can you do, but turn around..so we went home, took care of business and then we were on our way. It was a good reason to tell Grandma and Lucy goodbye again. My kids then proceeded to tell many other people goodbye. As we drove through town they would say things like, "goodbye Stemen, Hunter, Hicks families." Just to mention a few.
We had to only stop 6 times to use the bathroom and 1 time for gas. In Vicksburg, we stopped at Sonic a few minutes shy of happy hour. To kill time we climbed this huge hill with civil war memorials. It was a neat thing to see, except for the part where I walked right out of my shoe, my feet slipped out from under me and I slid right down that slippery slope!!!!!!
I think we all had a good laugh and then we all took a turn slidding down the hill. Tyre was no snow, just really slick grass.
We were in a total of five States today. We even crossed the Mississippi River on a really cool trestle bridge. We saw a lot of pretty fall Color.
Tomorrow we will spend most of our day in Texas and then we are staying in an old motel on route 66. Think retro. Should be fun.
